My Vanity

My husband had a friend who was moving back to Australia. She was selling some of her antiques that she bought here. He knew that I wanted an old Singer sewing so he got it for me.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I wanted to turn it into my vanity.

J helped me take it apart and I painted it all white. If your interested let me know and I will list the paint I used. The mirror is the Ung Mirror from Ikea.

I added command strip hooks to the side to hold my curling iron, straightener, and blow dryer.

I also painted a chair I found at a thrift store. I made a cushion with some of my favorite fabric from Amy Butler.

I love getting ready at this vanity!! My bathroom is a little neater these days. All of my makeup fits nicely in the drawers.

Oh by the way have you entered my giveaway yet?! It is still going strong! It’s the last week to enter! You could win an adorable reusable swim diaper and wet bag from Sew Excellent!! Enter here!!

  4. I love it and the mirror rocks. :)

  5. (hi, kinda new here)I absolutely love what you have done to this vintage sewing machine. The white with black iron detailing looks perfect with the black mirror. It’s given me a whole new perspective on those old machines! best, Jen

    • Thank you so much! I was so nervous to paint it thinking I would ruin it but I love it in white. I’ve heard of some people taking off the top that opens to the sewing machine and laying a piece of glass down. I think it would be neat one day to do! That way I can see the really cool antique sewing machine underneath!

    • and I just realized I wrote that under my sister’s account!
